Bruh how does this happen to someone and the first thing they think is "ima sell it" bruh get yo lazy ass up, grab a screwdriver, and try to see what's wrong. It's pretty hard to fuck up taking apart a controller unless it's a PS4 controller. All the the PS4 controllers I took apart no longer have a functional touch pad. Idek how that happened. The ribbon cable is 100% connected on at least 1 controller but that shit still dont work.

One of my joysticks (the acutal potentiometer part) finally let go after years of play, so naturally I got a soldering iron, a pack of replacement sticks, and went at it. Its broken anyway. Whats the worst you can do to it at that point? Break it? If you at least TRY to fix it, even if you fail, you still learned something and maybe even had a little fun along the way.
