Only 4 of these were ever built, prototypes. 2 of em survived, and are luckily museumed. Interesting part of Yak-141 develpoment story is, that when soviet collapsed, and Yakolev himself died couple of years before, the office was ofc struggling with funding. Last prototype developments and testings / showings of those two prototypes were funded by lockheed martin. The turning mechanism of back engine is pretty much identical, what comes to its basic working priciples, as we can now see in f-35 :)
