Great point. Got a multicolor pack of those Pigma pens. I use blue for general underlining/notes. Purple to circle/underline for specific words that I want to learn the definition of or understand the translation of and such. Red I use for references/foreshadowing of Jesus in other places of the Bible. I’ll also interchange some green or brown here and there to break up the blue if I’m really underlining a lot

We really love these Bible study tips, Tim. The more in-depth and challenging, the better.

This actually has been the most impactful tip for my bible study. I tended to get distracted and go on rabbit trails. I now can go back to my red notes and its really working

Best suggestion I've heard. It's simple and saves a lot of time.

Those pens btw, REALLY are awesome, There called *MICRON* Tip size for Bible underlining (005) and yes 100% archival ink. Will not bleed through. Here is a REAL TIP THOUGH. DO *NOT* USE A HIGHLIGHTER OVER IT, IF YOU DO IT WILL SMEAR BADLY.

I use a highlighting system:

Orange: Names
Pink: Places
Green: Groups of People (Jews, Gentiles, councils, sons, daughters, etc).
Blue: Old Testament References in the NT or previous references in the OT.

Pen: Underlining, adding cross references, defining words, other notes.

I like the micron pens. For me I like to have a messy Bible with all my notes, and a clean Bible for preaching and worship

Phew, thank you. So simple. I have been struggling with reading my Bible through because of my question that I have to look up before I go on.

I do something similar, but in a notebook. I'm not sure if I would want to take up margin space for questions because once I look them up, I wouldn't want that question in the notes anymore.

This is why I use the original Experiencing God Study Bible. It has wide margins, plenty of room to write down what God is revealing to me and the questions God is asking me.
