It's not their fault. Mercedes aimed the GLK350 right at people who feel inadequate with big loans and high interest--all for poor people to fake being rich and go deeper into debt.

My ex girlfriends mom bought a newer one of these from carvana to celebrate playing off her college debt.
Just let that sink in... to celebrate being debt free, she put herself in $80k in debt for a soon to be obsolete used car.

Somewhere someone is listening to this and a single tear is trickling down their cheek as the fragile self esteem they built for themselves on a mountain of unsustainable debt is brutally crushed by 4 words.

GLK350 owner with 160,000miles, no issues for 10 years. And it was free from my grandma!

Propabily in USA. In eastern Europe, GLK 250 diesel is one of the most reliable cars on market. It can make hundred of thousands of km without giving you a headache.

Mercedes never ended up making an AMG version of it, which says everything you need to know about how much they cared about it. Remember they made a R-Class AMG

I kinda like the styling. It's as if a GWagen got seriously drunk one night and ended up screwing an older CClass

That specific gen/model and even year is known to be extremely reliable and trouble free.

I have seen families getting serviced in these, and they never look ready for the bill

Remember people, drive whatever car you want at any age you decide, don't let a loser wearing a beanie indoors tell you otherwise.

I love my glk 350 it’s got 183000 km and going strong. Never got it to try to pretend to be rich. It’s a good engine .

I mentioned this on the main review too- the best thing about the GLK350 is that it was a nice Hertz upgrade from the Altima I'd have otherwise gotten a couple times.

The vehicle the GLK350 buyer SHOULD have bought? A Lexus RX.

These are great cars, little to no maintenance problems pretty straight forward and the diesels are solid too

As a Mercedes tech and not a huge Mercedes fan , these are actually incredibly good cars . Nothing bad happens with the electrical unless you clog a sunroof drain . They go for like 10 grand now . Common Mr Regular

I'm a big fan of RCR, but this is way wrong.
However, you have to appreciate the car for what it is, not what people think it is.
It's a mid range SUV. Not a top range SUV. Yes, it's mercedes, but it's not the best they can do.
I'm a MB tech. These don't have electrical problems, they have PLASTIC problems that cause electrical codes. The electronic steering lock is the most common. Plastic part eventually wears out and needs replaced. Not a terribly expensive fix.
Intake maifold Adjuster is another culprit. An aluminum upgrade exists and will last forever.
Sub frame rusts easily.
If you recognize and prepare for those 3 issues, and do regular maintenance it will last you 250k plus , and treat you nice for every mile.

Eh, I'm not a SUV person, but I like the styling. I prefer the boxy look for this type of vehicle.

A friend of mine's mom bought a GLK250 diesel brand new in 2014 and still drives it (though it's a second car now, she recently got a lightly used GLC300). And she actually is a wealthy person, owns a big house in a private community.
