It's funny how often times people mention the increased compression with 200 over the 85 but often times it makes people's faces look much wider. Even to the extend that when you see them side-by-side like here the 200 looks distorted.

In that setting with no distance behind your model I agree with the 85mm. Maybe outside with a more natural blurry backdrop the result would be different.

For me I love my 105, the look and the gorgeous background blur is the best, here I liked the 85 better.

70-200 allows you 85, 105, 135, and 200mm albeit 2.8 but quite versatile unless you need the f/1.2 or f1.8 shallower depth of field is desired or use when a low light environment that's why have the zoom plus a few primes; tools for the job at hand

105mm works the best for me. 135mm and above is too compressed both face and the background. And 85mm feels too wide to me. 105/1.4 is my sweet spot.

135 for me. If you have the working distance. Itās a little long for some studios which is why 85 is used more IMHO.

All looked great. My personal preference portrait lens is the SIGMA 105mm f/1.4 Art but the Tamrom 35-150mm would do just fine.
