IMPORTANT INFOโก๏ธ I train to failure on most working sets - but not 100% of the time (Example, if Iโm doing 3 sets for an exercise, I may push the final 2 as hard as I can)
There are some occasions where I might do slightly higher reps - shorter rest periods - and I may experience a burn/pump because of it. However, itโs not what the vast majority of my workouts consist of.
For the most efficient growth stimulus - you should follow this:
- Train within a close proximity to failure without doing more reps than necessary
- Rest until fully recovered between sets (the CNS takes at least 3 min when itโs exhausted)
- Donโt train with the explicit goal of feeling a burn or getting a pump.
- Keep things consistent & aim to get stronger
