I believe Viv stated before that it was her dream to have one of her works be voiced by a hollywood cast, so of course she took up the opportunity to switch the VAs, it wasnt just about the money.
It was also most likely better on a production standpoint, because most of the characters in the pilot had different singing and speaking VAs. and since hazbin is a musical, it would be much more convenient to have a VA that could do both.
Most VAs voice pilots with the knowledge that they probably won't be playing those characters again anyways, so the original cast wouldn't have felt slighted or anything.

Honestly, I think viv did right for the show. I would love the original cast, but getting Broadway actors for her show was always her dream and she achieved it, so, good for her. Still, it would've been cooler if she stuck to the og cast.

No hate, but for Hazbin Hotel, viv did the right thing, and the VA's knew it. She needed Broadway trained voices for the musical numbers planned for that show, and actually alot of the VAs from the HH pilot ended up as VAs for background characters/repeat characters in HB.

Not to hate, but do you know what a pilot episode is for? Of course the actors changed, they go in knowing they are only voicing the character once. Character design also changes especially in animation

Why are you upset at a change that literally nobody is upset with not even the original voice actors are upset. It’s a pilot episode stuff changes between that and the full release.

it’s not supposed to be an example, it’s Supposed to be a good show and Viv couldn’t achieve that without help from a bigger corporation. And I have looked at other comments where you say “well this show could keep the original VA’s” well not every show or show creator can do that and don’t want that, shows are supposed to be different. I also think the new VA’s did great jobs and there isn’t anything to hate on.

My guy. Most of the people who were casted in hazbin are only famous to musical nerds, hell angel dusts va (ya know a fan favorite character that everyone has adored for years) had literally no work experience before hazbin and was given the job based on talent alone. The reason the characters were recasted was because they needed a broadway cast for broadway music. God damn you’re just a hater.

It wasn't entirely her fault. Pilot voice actors are only to give an idea of what the full series will sound like as a pitch. Sure, some voice actors stick around, but they're often hired for their talent. By using an amazon animation studio, it wasn't just Viv on the board anymore. A24 also wanted to have a say in the show and it's cast.
And it's not like she hired Chris Pratt to play everyone and called it a night. She hired people who actually could sing and act. Many of them were fans of her work before being cast.

I was disappointed that most of the voice actors didn’t come back but I know a lot of it is contracts as well some voice actors can’t partner with certain companies

-Keith David was amazing for Husk
-Alex Brightman was 10/10 for Adam
-everyone did amazing in their roles and just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean that other people agree
