I prefer Survivors, honestly. Warriors has just gotten too big lately and stolen the show. I feel like Survivors has more potential. Also Warriors crosses the line way too many times. It romanticized cult worshipping and following religion so closely that it started affecting everyone's well-being. I'm not joking. Look at Starclan in the first Arc, and look at what they do from Power of Three onward. They piss me off so much because they act like they're entitled to something just because they died. Like, what tf? In The Prophecies Begin, they were really just gaurdians that helped everyone out, and then they built on that a little in The New Prophecy. I didn't agree with most of their decisions but they were still able to slip beneath my radar. Then comes Power of Three. .... I cannot even begin to describe how sick Starclan was to these poor cats. They BROKE them. I feel like I should give an example: Leafpool and Crowfeather. Leafpool was forced to give up Crow just because Starclan made it illegal for medicine cats to have kits. That rule in itself is probably the Series' dumbest feature. It caused 3x more problems than it solved. Yellowfang had to give Brokenstar up as a kit to an abusive queen. What happened because of it? Cat Hitler and a Holocaust that nearly destroyed Shadowclan and caused said Clan to literally have every other problem in existence. Think about it, that one event lead to Nightstar's rule. Which lead to a weak leader taken out by sickness with no extra lives to defend himself. Why didn't he have extra lives? Because of Starclan. They just decided that they wouldn't give him his extra lives because Brokenstar "still lived". That is the dumbest freaking thing I've ever heard.
I feel like I should just get to the point: Starclan cats are fricking Dictators that do not give 2 sh*ts about living cats or their happiness. They just do what they want and cause problems and then will just disappear for WHOLE ARCS when they don't wanna deal with it. Warrior cats treats it like it's the best thing there can be, sacrificing your own health and mind to follow their stupid Code, while cats are clearly putting up with so much crap to have a RELIGION. it's a freaking CULT and everyone's perfectly fine with giving these to children? There's conspiracy, Holocaust periods, war, famine, described birth, mental illnesses, racism, brutal murder for sometimes as little as a MOUSE RUNNING ACROSS THE BORDER.
Sorry, but I read every. Single. Warriors. Arc. Up until The Broken Code because I seriously couldn't take it anymore. I honestly wish no books after The Prophecies Begin were Canon. It's just so complicated and twisted and disgusting, and Survivors is a wonderful alternative to that.
I devoted 4 years of my life to reading Warriors. Books that once made me so happy only make me feel uncomfortable to read. And you know what I find the stupidest in all this? it's for no reason.
Half of what made the best series by Erin Hunter the worst series I think I've ever read was just so the writers could have their forbidden love stories. Don't twist rules and personalities of characters to fit your new ideas, change your ideas to fit the characters and worlds you've already created.
Listen, you did a good job on the edit, and I'm not mad at anyone who likes Warriors. I personally do not care at all what you read. But Survivors had better writing and potential than Warriors has had in a very long time.
And speaking of a long time it'll take you poor soul a long time to read this so ima stop typing now. Goodbye 😂
