The CAC scan is a cheap and easy way to check for calcified plaques in your heart arteries. Mine cost $49 and showed that I have no calcified plaques. It is recommended that anyone over the age of 45 get one done once every 5-10 years, earlier if you have several cardiovascular risk factors.

University Hospitals in NE Ohio offers it free. I got mine last year and scored a 0. I argued for years with my Dr about not taking statins. I've been keto since 2012 and before that many years of Atkins. So I'm a fat-burner with a naturally higher LDL. She finally shut up after that 0 score.😅
