Please for the love of God, plant NEITHER into the ground, both have gone bananas at our house from a previous owner and we are having to dig everything out by hand.
Instead, consider a native crossvine, or maybe espalier a fruit tree? You could try planting an upright rosemary hedge, or getting some lovely tall native grasses like bluestem or northern sea oats? Even a vining bean like scarlet runner (which you can eat!) would be a better option than ivy, honeysuckle, trumpetvine, woodvine or morning glories (because seriously, four years in and I'm still fighting all of these, as they destroy our fences and crawl under our foundation.)
Your patio looks INCREDIBLE!!!!

Honeysuckle and Ivy are, like, the WORST options. Invasive and an absolute pain with very little benefit for pollinators. Please consider something native, or at least edible. Grapes take a few years to get established but at least you get snacks out of them! Just something to consider. Everything is looking great, though! Keep up the good work!!

Please consider using native plants for the ivy π not only can the english ivy damage your walls, but native pollinators will appreciate the native plants
