pretty sure Egypt (i think they run the Suez Canal) is going to be PISSED because they make $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS for every ship that passes through it...

Having been on just a TA cruise that stoped in Casablanca, they brought up how busy their ports are now. I fan tell you, thete as well as Cadiz and Lusbon, huge amount of containers on newly opened storage yards. At least Spain and Portugal like the US.

Just remember reflagging these ships with US Flags, what happened to the USS Stark. I was stationed on her at her last two years.

So the choice is to spend billions of taxpayer money to protect the ships or let the shippers spend more sailing around the horn, driving up prices at the cash register. Iā€™d like to see an analysis as to which would be better.

I think Egypt should send their army forces to Yemen and handle the situation! After all, the suez canal is under their control! Itā€™s in their best interest!

Land, the unsinkable aircraft carrier. A question in my mind is with the trend to larger and larger ships ... to big for various canals might the canals loose out to bigger ships going the long route?

Here's the problem with us not providing protection: China (and/or Europe) will. Everyone seems to forget how important Pax Americana is to our national prosperity. We're on the brink of losing the petrodollar, global reserve currency - changes that would carry huge economic impacts.

God bless you Salā€¦ we are at a place that hasnā€™t been seen since WWII.
I realize that many, including myself are anxious about whatā€™s going on.
The only one in control at this point is God.
