Always loved the ā€œclingā€ as you eject the empty charger from the Lee action. Owned my No.4 Mk.2 for over 30 years now, and I still remember that noise the first time I loaded the rifle. To this day, the best rifle I have ever owned.

This was filmed through the battle sight, but it also has a ladder sight that can allow more accurate shooting up to a mile.
I can still do full military drills with this gun, even after 58 years. We also stood in the butts to mark targets shot at 100yds. Pretty scary for a 13 year old!
Interesting thing about the military ammo: Depending on its age, the FMJ boat tailed bulletā€™s tip was either filled with aluminium or compressed paper. The paper was used throughout WW2 because they needed the aluminium for aircraft manufacture. Anyway, it caused the bullet to bend like a banana and tumble when it hit anything solid. Basically a legalised dum-dum bulletā€¦
There was a training version that had a miniature target and the rifle fired two captive prongs out of the barrel to mark the target card. Still donā€™t know why there were two prongs.
We used to do rifle drill indoors if it was raining (we were cadets). One day we practiced fixing bayonets, then the sergeant called ā€˜slope armsā€™ā€¦
and we suddenly had 24 bayonets stuck in the ceiling! šŸ˜‚
