Thanos could not snap his fingers in the infinity gauntlet, according to scientists. Fingertips produce a Goldilocks zone of friction to create the perfect snap. Too much or too little friction and it doesn’t work. The team from Georgia Tech also discovered that the finger snap is the fastest motion the human body is capable of producing. It was previously thought pitching a baseball was fastest.

The research was published in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface. You can read the full article here: bit.ly/3DvebEP

It was always thought the baseball pitch produced the fastest acceleration the body was capable of. Now we know it's actually the finger snap. The fingertip reaches the palm in just 7 milliseconds!

Infinity war dealt with talking raccoons, flying axes, and infinity stones and these scientists say Thanos couldn't snap his fingers........ok

The sound of your fingers hitting your palm makes the noise not the separation of thumb and finger.

Snapping his fingers was merely symbolic.
Several times during the movies he is able to use the infinity gauntlet to manipulate the world/people around him without snapping his fingers..

BTY.. nice to see scientists working on serious scientific research. Next week they figure out why ice melts when you leave it out in the sun.

"they found that human fingertips" - Thanos wasn't human nor was the infinity gauntlet. These people are scientists you say?

First-the gloves aren't made of terrestrial metal. They could easily be made of a substance which permits it.. and frankly its the freakin' Infinity Gauntlet-it ALTERS REALITY. A small frictional difficulty?? oh come on now.

What a waste of time and money. Collage’s are creating money wasting researcher’s. Good job for nothing

Billions of years of physical existence, hundreds of thousands of years of primate evolution, and hundreds of thousands of dollars for a lifetime of education. All for this one moment.
