I think the reason why John doesnā€™t talk about Arthur in RDR 1 is because when he was talking to Mary-beth in the epilogue, John said he doesnā€™t talk about Arthur much, but he thinks about him a lot, so maybe during gameplay in RDR 1, John is thinking about Arthur

The reason because John didn't mention Arthur in RDR1 beyond the fact that they didn't plan it, it seems to me that this can also have a symbolic meaning. In certain conversations, such as with his family for example, in the Epilogue of RDR2, Jack and Abigail were talking about Arthur, where she herself says that John doesn't like to talk much about that, to which he himself affirms it. It is also said that John never forgets Arthur, he just does not mention him, because of everything he lived with him, he became ill, causing him to want to redeem himself and be a good person, to finally die saving his loved ones, including John. Another thing to add is that those who spoke about Arthur were mostly acquaintances, or rather, people who also knew Arthur, like Mary-Beth, the native whose name I don't remember, I think it was Aguila or something like that, her own family, Charles, Sadie, and finally with Micah along with Dutch, which to explain why they did not talk about him almost at the end of Red Dead Redemption 1, it could be explained that John was too focused on his mission to talk to him about Arthur, but that Dutch at that moment was probably thinking about him, since the things he says are similar to things he said in a certain mission, in which he was with Arthur: "We can't fight...gravity", that could also be part of what I'm saying. There are many more things but I am going on too long.

1. Dutch was manipulated by Micah into believing that Micah is a good person
2. Arthur didnt exist, they never wrote a story or a design of him until the next few years
3. Yes, because if he was alive, he could have helped Arthur hunt down Agent Milton and brought him back as proof that Micah was a traitor

1, Dutch probably knew but he couldent accept it.
2, he didnā€™t mention Arthur because rockstar didnā€™t even plan to create RDR2, yet alone the character ā€œArthur Morganā€
3, yes, Hosea couldā€™ve definitely saved the gang, saving some people and siding with Arthur in the end.

The real reason is because rock star didn't even rightly own rdr1 when it released and had no idea of making a prequel. But I like to think, accurately. John never mentioned Arthur because he wants to "let the past be the past"

1. Dutch knew but only when it was too late.
2. I think I know the answer. So when John in rdr2 meets Mary Beth at the train station, he says this one line "I don't really talk much about Arthur anymore". That could explain why Arthur isn't mentioned in rdr1. Obviously rockstar hadn't though of Arthur when rdr1 was in the making but if we look at it story-wise, I think it's a good explanation.
3. Absolutely Yes, if he hadnt died in chapter 4 or 5

He dosent mention Arthur because rdr1 was made before rdr2, and most characters like Arthur and Sadie didnā€™t exist until rdr2.
