American Pittbull + Labrador is probably my favorite mutt. I've had one and known others and they're always the best of both breeds.

I adopted a street dog from Thailand costs me a arm and a leg Dna test shows sheā€™s 33% Doberman , 21% pitbull and the rest Rhodesian ridgeback She is a machine , and far to clever for her own good

I have adopted two Romanian street dogs, what they have both been thru and the awful treatment that have had to endure you would expect them to be very suspicious of humans. My first dog was the sweetest and gentlest little dog you could ever want. It broke my heart when I lost her last year aged 10. I then adopted my 2nd Rommie. He had been thrown from a moving car into a busy road aged 3 months. I adopted him aged 9 months and again he loves everyone and is so sweet and gentle. ( not so with other dogs unfortunately. ) and lots of fun. They are so resilient and ready to please you. Rommies forever.

I agree with you Will- thereā€™s an awful snobbery in the pedigree world and propaganda about why pedigreeā€™s are better- but I think looking at crufts and health issues created by line breeding I have always harboured the opinion that outcrosses are healthier and better balanced dogs.

I have a black Lab mixed with what I think is an American Staffordshire Terrier. Very smart, learned his new name and recall in a couple hours of rescuing him. High energy but loves to cuddle on the couch. Seems to be sensitive though.

Thank you for mentioning rescues! In my experience, theyā€™re by far the most amazing dogs you can have and the kind of bond you form with an animal like this is truly incredible. One of the most rewarding experiences ever.

I've only had mutts as family dogs. None of them suffered from abnormal health conditions.

Yes!!! I have a Malinois + Black lab service dog and she is the PERFECT service dog. Loves to work, learns so quickly and has the amazing temperament of a lab. She's such a blessing.

Weā€™ve always had rescued mix breeds in my family and every one of them has been an absolute gem. The pup I have now is German shepherd, pit, Belgian malinois, lab, and Rottweiler. Sheā€™s incredibly smart and such a sweetheart. I wouldnā€™t trade her for the world.

Since ifirst moved out of home as a teenager ive had 5mixed breeds a kelpie x bull terrier absolutely beautiful girl, akita x Sheppard, husky x malamute and mastiff x am staff all of them were absolutely gorgeous and now i have an american akita and i think put of all of them the pure bred has been the hardest to train and is having professional training

Vets have always said that mixed breeds are hardier. There's less interbreeding problems than the pure breeds. But if one or both parents are unhealthy or have issues then some or all puppies will get it. It's the luck of the draw. So which one to stick to? Check out the shelters and adoption places first. You have a high chance of getting a fantastic dog and doing good. If the dogs there aren't suitable then research breeders and get the best you can afford. Don't support puppy farmers. Ever.

Iā€™m likely gonna get a Pitbull Rottweiler this Friday. Idk if Iā€™m ready I lost my American pitbull terrier 10 Months ago and I miss him everyday. But I saw the imposing male Rottie at 125lbs and his sweet loving momma a blue fawn staffy at 75lbs and I fell in love! I told the guy I want a brown one, heā€™s been sending me weekly pics of the puppies, Friday theyā€™ll be 8 weeks and if all goes well I think ima name him Coco!

I got 2 rottie labs and im in love with this mix and there is no way anyone can convince me that any single breed can outdo this mix, well maybe a mali but you wont be able to do some of the work that you will be able to do with rottie labs, for example hunting. While you still cannot.hunt with a dog that is not.a purebreed you can do sport duck retrieval and show up your competition. These dogs are the most overall complete dogs and I have yet to see something they cannot do at a high level. I so wish this mix would get accepted as a purebreed someday so I could really compete with my dogs at the highest levels.

Our mixed breed, one we rescued, was the most expensive dog we ever owned; our German Shepherds and Irish Wolfhounds were cheap by comparison. Our little Jasperā€™s body could not process protein, the primary staple of a dogā€™s diet. Feeding him and buying his meds quickly added up faster than every penny we spent on our well bred pure breeds. Itā€™s a rare genetic condition that even people get. For dogs, itā€™s usually a 2 year death sentence, but our little guy was a trooper. He lived 11 years.

here in my country, we called most of mix dogs as Aspins and by far they're the best dogs for my tropical country compared to purebreds which generally need high maintenance just to survive long enough. Right now, we got 6 aspins and 1 beagle (gifted), I'd rather take more Aspins than purebreds tbh šŸ˜…

I have a cane corso x malinois assistance dog in training and hooo boy im glad sheā€™s my assistance dog and not a family dog. She needs the focus and job or sheā€™d destroy my house. Its always a good idea to research the breeds that make up a dog so you know what they need

I've got 3 rescue dogs. All mixed breeds and absolutely great. One is a lab German shepherd mix and he is so awesome. Had him before my son came along and Ryś has not left his side since. Biggest issue is the newest one and trying to find the time to train him, 5 years in the shelter and a shepherd/ luve stock guardian mix makes him a bit of a challenge but he just lives to be loved
