A wild cat and fox are walking through the forest and talking about how they escape from hunters. The fox boasts that it has many clever ways to escape them and the cat admits it only has one. Just then, hunters with hounds spring upon them. The cat immediately hides up a tree. The fox can't decide which of its evasion tactics to use, and is caught.
A variation to this fable is that the cat uses a sniper rifle to fire upon the dogs and hunters, allowing the fox to escape, but it is considered apocryphal. 🦊
