Yo can tell a mechanic came up with this solution: "And if i crossthread it, its not welded to the bottom" ahaha what an awesome video

I started to wonder that then decided…this man is a master fabricator and knows what he’s doing😂

Welding a nut on the bottom of it sounds like an engineer came up with it. Myself, I'm like you, I'd prefer that a mechanic came up with the reasoning to not do it, so you know, it's not impossible to service in the future.

I’m a welder and I wouldn’t weld those nuts.

Even thinking about it hurts... I wouldn't even want mine lightly soldered.

Pretty sad you have to justify your self. This man is a genius I'd love to see someone else do these conversions as good as dboss does..

Well done. In this day of those who work for dealerships, and other jobs where mechanical know how is needed, they are supposed to have that mechanical knowledge, only they don't. It is great to see someone who truly knows their craft. And their work speaks for itself. You my friend are the ( MAN ).

I like it. Sometimes you can find nuts with a tab so they can still wiggle, but can't do a full rotation. No wrench needed!

Just tell the "experts" they can do it to their own cat powered f-350

In the words of the great AVE "A design engineer is the only guy that would climb over a mountain of virgins to screw one mechanic". Now the art of doing your own design and fabrication work is being smart enough, so you don't screw yourself doing something that will bite you later. Welding those nuts could be one of them boxing that mount in would be the other, unless you like fighting with parts in awkward spots Rich is right !

Those bolts and nuts will likely rust up and seize eventually. A little access for the air chisel or smoke wrench and the seized bolt will be out in no time. No need to be pretty where it will never be seen. Just brutally effective and that's what Rich does best.

I was thinking about a hole through the bottom of the crossmember last night while watching this build but it’ doesn’t look that hard to get a nut under that angle. You’re doing great, looks awesome so far👍👍👍
