I've read it's because they feel bad for what they did but don't know how to resolve that so they just deny it. ig it's better than thinking they're doing it to be continously hurtful but I can't tolerate this behavior tbh :( own up

When face book was new, I found an old friend that used to be at my house a lot and saw some shizz my mom said and did. I asked her once if she remembered my mom flipping out. She said "like that time she threw you across the room by your hair? (I was 8)
Fast forward a few months after I found that friend, and mom and I are in an argument. She was pulling this "I never did that" stuff and I pulled up the friends message. She lost her mind.
