It would be funny if they were confusing the furbishing on the wood with their own propolis

Here’s your reminder that honey bees are not native to the Americas. If you have the ability, build structures and plant plants that will help your native bee species thrive and reproduce. Honeybees are crucial for many plants, but your native pollinators will help native plants thrive.

As much as I agree with the sentiment about saving the bees, I have a major gripe in how it is all focused around the Honey Bee, typically the Western Honey Bee. The Western Honey Bee is by far the last species of bee we have to be concerned for, and not enough information and help goes to native species of bees that are from the Americas. Yes, the honey bees are big money for farmers and beekeepers, but native bees have been pushed out for centuries by the generalist Western Honey Bee, and are integral to the environment as well as biodiversity. Please do a video detailing the importance of our native bees, and not just those of the Western Honey Bee!

Keep in mind that honey bees are and will be fine since they’re essentially livestock and non-native to the USA. Native bees really need to be more in the limelight than honey bees when we’re talking about bee conservation

little funfact. here in brazil we learned to harvest propolis and use it as an antiseptic cream to treat wounds so they don't get infected.

Edit: sad thing is.. it isn't fully commercialized as far as i know. Cuz I've only seen it being sold in the southern states of Brazil instead anywhere in the center or north. :/.

Honey bees aren't native to everywhere, and we need to start also protecting moths, butterflies, bats, and many small critters like native mice and voles depending on part of the world.

We have more domesticated bees than ever in history of beekeeping. But nice, to reduce change of loss of a hive.

Beekeepers help bees just by making more messy looking hyfes sounds wrong but very good science.

It amazes me that, after 500 years of bee husbandry, we are still learning new ways of beekeeping!

I am of the opinion we are too honey bee bias and most bees actually almost all just make propolis instead of honey and yet are under studied if it’s as effective

You can also use more trash wood for beehouses
