Native Canadian is what I use because it is scientific....and science tries to be descriptive and factual and understood international...if someone says they are Cree .. please do!
i am trying to build my knowledge that the government tried to stop.
I use Native to any population of a country not just Canada.For example "Native Australian " ( are not from Europe, Asia ect...I don't like when people get crazy and say they ARE Canadian ( yes cultural-wise but not Native ...everyone has a " motherland they are NATIVE to. I'm not a stickler of words but Native is no bad to use if you do not have more info. My opinion only.

So what term should non Native Canadian individuals refer to the numerous Native Canadian communities ? Or are there clear divisions within the various Native communities about what terms are appropriate ?
