I like both. It depends on preparation and setting. The thing is, many do not know that asparagus is a finger food, and they will side-eye or correct you. Joke's on them. If they have the poor manners to correct mine, I will do my due diligence to inform them.

I prefer using utensils unless it's a picnic, but my French friends consider it an insult to spring asparagus to enjoy it in any fashion except with one's fingers.
