If I drink more than a couple of beers, about one or two days later I get hit with low mood, that lasts for about 2 days. Not always, but lately I'm noticing that, and as someone in his 40s I certainly think that's a good enough reason to minimise or even quit drinking.

Doing these things has helped me immensely in life: 1. Quitting porn 2. Never drinking 3. Never smoking (including vaping) 4. Going to the gym 5. Great sleep and eating well Pretty simple. Your body generally knows what it needs…you will suffer if you put bad things into your body.

This is how I gauged my depression. On days where I had unlimited happiness and willpower, I knew that in a couple days my depression was going to spike for a few days. Not even alcohol related, and it always was the case.

Hit the nail on the head. Also, if any of you are looking for something to productively combat low mood, try wim hof breathing video on here(it’s only 11 mins) and it works every time. Another thing that helps is taking a long, hot shower and turning it cold at the end for as long as you can. This will spike your dopamine 250%
