I was talking with a friend that’s in the same field as me the other day about working with our clients and noticing that even though often people say they really really want to release patterns, let go of the past, and change - it’s actually hard to do and part of it’s because it’s what we know, it’s comfortable, and sometimes it’s even a bit addictive.

One of the things I’ve found that’s the most useful in shifting the energy so real change can happen is ceremony. Here’s a simple sacred ceremony I use to transform that sticky, clinging energy so I can be free:

✨Prepare Your Space: Clear the energy and invite in your Divine Guidance Team. Light a candle, play some music, and claim the space to dive into this ceremony.

✨Reflective Writing: Free write about what you’re stuck in in the past, what patterns keep repeating themselves, and the emotional experience related.

✨Symbolic Totem: Select a tangible item that echoes the essence of what you’re ready to release. Place it on your altar or within a sacred container, infusing it with the energy of the stagnation that’s been here - really allowing the feelings of frustration, sadness, grief, or anger to flow.

✨Intentionally Release: Hold the totem, infuse it with any last remains of the angst, stuckness, or resistance, and surrender it to the universe. You can do this through the purifying heat of fire, the cleansing element of water, or the composting magic of earth. Trust the elements to take it and transform it.

✨Meditation: Close your eyes, take a deep breath and feel the spaciousness that’s been created. Envision the weight of burdens transforming into a luminous lantern, illuminating the path toward exactly what you want to create..

Releasing the grip on the past is essential for our expansion. Letting go is like clearing the clutter from our energy, creating room for new opportunities, joy, and personal evolution.
