This is a very cool Dr. It's so difficult finding a doc that actually wants to help his patients and not just push more more more meds, for perks from big pharma reps.

I read a study graph from Australia that 120 people out of every 1000 are on Anti depressants, Like the 3rd highest in the world. Sometimes anti depressants do feel like they are not working after awhile but when you get off them some people actually feel worse with Anxiety, depression, not enjoying things they once did while taking them, effecting work and people get back on them.

Withdrawal has lasted over a year for me now. I basically have PSSD including emotional blunting. I can barely feel anything. Life is fairly shit at the moment. Nobody believes me really. I wish I'd never gone on the pills.

I felt amazing my first couple months on 20 mg of prozac. But then it wears off. I got up to 60mg , and I couldn't stop chewing on my tongue, my therapist didn't believe me šŸ™ƒ
Im finally down to 10mg. But getting off antidepressants is a long hard proces

We know this, Iā€™ve been on fluoxetine for over 20 years, the only reason I still take it is to avoid the completely debilitating long term withdrawal symptoms. I lasted 3 years off it once and then gave up because of the mental and physical issues. Less than 1 week of being back on it i felt immediately better. My brain is now rewired to be reliant on them and even tapering off is too much pain. These drugs should never be prescribed in the first place, they donā€™t even know how they work

I guess the only use is to temporarily feel less depressed/anxious so that it is easier to fix the underlying negative core beliefs or life circumstances that actually cause the depression or anxiety

Iā€™ve been on Sertraline for really bad PMDD since Feb and it still seems to be working well. I havenā€™t gone up on the does. Maybe itā€™s cuz itā€™s PMDD though.

Hello Dr. Joseph,
Based on the videos I have seen, it appears your clinics help patients taper off of antidepressants and benzos but not antipsychotics, correct?
The reason I ask is because I have posted questions on antipsychotics but you donā€™t respond to them. Please know, we appreciate everything you do to educate people regarding the meds and their side effects but some of us need guidance with antipsychotics. Any chance you can please talk about clozapineā€™s side effects and proper taper? If itā€™s not something you are comfortable discussing or have little knowledgeable on, then please say so. We were hoping to make an appointment with your clinic but unfortunately, you are not licensed in our state. Thank you.

Yep.... at the one year mark.....and increasing the dose didn't make a difference so I tapered off of it.

My sister has been on Lexapro for years. I think she may have interdose withdrawal symptoms. Sheā€™s on the highest ā€œnon psychiatric dose, which is 20 mg per day. One tablet does not even last 24 hours before she gets brain zaps and withdrawal symptoms. The doctor wants to add another antidepressant. She started taking them for sleep disturbances years ago. Iā€™d like to see her just get off them.
