The first time I ever hear a snippet from Alan Watt's Lecture "What If Money Was No Object" was on Logic's Sophomore Album "The Incredible True Story". It came out in 2015 but I didn't hear this advice until 2018, three years into a University degree I hated. Maybe it was perfect timing considering the content of Watts' Lecture. From then on I vowed to never do things I don't like. When I started my Wedding Photography Business I took this mindset to my editing style and told myself I would edit photos the way I personally would like them. Sure not everyone will like them, but I don't need everyone to like them. I just need 10-20 people per year to like my work enough to book me for their wedding. When you think about that it's crazy. We spend most of our days trying to please everyone when really we only need like 0.0000001% of the population to like our art. Stop caring what other people think. They aren't your clients anyway and they sure don't get to decide the way you live your life. I get so passionate about this but I know how powerful it can be to live a life you love!
