Thatās how we catch them down here in New England, snag the bunker and throw the whole āpogieā on a circle hook , they donāt chop up their food in the wild so why would I do it to try and catch them.

That's exactly why they stock them in many lakes. They are a gamefish capable of eating large gizzard shad that other fish cannot.
