I think that's a great description of a kangaroo: big versions of wallabies!

Visually, kangaroos are to wallabies what adult humans are to toddlers: the stretched-out and not-so-cute version of their kind.

There's a clip going around of a zoo where you can test your strength against the animals. They have a rope inside a box. The rope has counter weights so if tugged on, the animal could pull it. You can test against a meerkat, tiger, elephant.. and a couple smaller animals. i love that idea for an interactive element.

Molly, I think it would be really cool if you visited Alveus sanctuary in Texas! They are a sanctuary for non-releasable animals that isn't open to the public, but welcomes streamers and internet personalities in for live streamed tours and it's very hands on for most animals, there are always ways to interact with them, even the ones you can't touch. The founder is a young conservation activist who feels like she'd have a lot in common with you and found maybe help you with your fear of birds.

Aussie here. You're not wrong, a kangaroo is pretty much a bigger wallaby. The only ones that are different are the big males. They can be all chill but when pissed off or fighting suddenly huge muscles appear. They look like body builders

Most internationals visiting Australia mistake wallabies for baby kangaroos so you’re not wrong with them looking similar but different sizes!

Awww! That is such a sweet story about the wallaby eating from your hand and you getting to pet its sweet little head. I’m so glad you had such a wonderful and positive experience at the zoo this time. ❤ LB

Did they have many birds at this zoo? I really enjoyed the sounds of different birds when I visited the zoo.

Taronga is also great as it’s on the harbour - the sea breeze and catching the ferry there.

I’ve been to some depressing zoos. That zoo looked like not only a great experience for you, but a decent one for the animals.

As a blind person, I never loved zoos but I think aviaries can be fun because the birds are often really chatty and they have distinctive songs. Also, some aquariums are cool because they let you touch some of the fish, turtles, etc.
