I think evolutions were underwhelming so What about something like progress evolutions where you pick your favourite player and you go play matches with him, the matches give something like xp (less xp in squad battles) and when you complete one stage which is for example 50 matches your card gets upgraded
But ofc there will be a cao but it wont be as restricted as these evos we have... Wby guys

You say card selling but you’d end up with worse than coin sellers, people would just directly “trade” cards
