honestly, for wagyu, $165 for that steak isn’t bad. it’s not something you order everytime, it’s a one time thing for the experience and flavor. not bad pricing for the experience.

Anyone that has eaten A5 Wagyu will know that if you are used to eating American steaks and you eat a full wagyu like that, it will absolutely mess your stomach up. Have to consume that glorious steak in smaller portions.

considering how rich wagyu is… That steak could easily be shared with at least 4 people, it’s just so fatty and decadent.

The price is good for A5 wagyu, considering its within Japan, you see less markups due to tariffs or shipping prices.

Can confirm: As an American who went to Japan for vacation and tried RUN OF THE MILL Wagyu, it definitely changes your perspective. I ate the every day grocery store cut of steak and it absolutely obliterated the nicest steakhouse steak I ever had in America.

There’s no such thing as “locking in the juices.” Searing creates a crust, which is delicious. Resting retains the moisture.

Searing doesnt "lock in the juices". Just another myth when it comes to making steak just like resting (past what temp you want it) or basting
