How do you hear and know what's God's voice and what's my own ambition? 🔔 youtube.com/christcenteredtribe

My desires sound different when I listen to ambition vs. following God's leading

Ambition: I want to be well-known (self-centered)
God's Leading: I want to impact a lot of people (service-centered)

Ambition: I have to figure out how to make this happen (self-reliance)
God's Leading: I have to actively step into the unknown, and God will make a way (God-dependence)

Ambition: I'll be successful when it all works out in the end (outcomes-focused)
God's Leading: I'm saying yes to God even though I don't know how it's going to work out in the end - and that feels hard, but it's a success (trust-focused)

Ambition: I'll be able to tell everyone how I did it (l'm the hero)
God's Leading: I'll be able to tell everyone how God showed up in the impossibilities (God's the hero)

❌ And the thing is...the actions could look the SAME when I'm following ambition vs. God's leading - so it's hard to tell from the outside.

✅ For me, trusting my desires doesn't mean trusting whatever thought pops into my mind on a whim. It me choosing to delight in God. Delighting in God purifies and creates desires in my heart that I can trust, and that God loves to give me!
