I am a coach driver. Modern Coaches are much wider at the sides and even longer with more metres of excessive and unnessesary front/rear overhang then old 1990's coaches. Cars and vans are also wider and taller then old 1990's cars and vans. Its not the roads that I blame its the sizes of new vehicles they make and they won't back down on size and look at things sensibly. Back 30 years ago an old Volvo B10M Vanhool Alize could tuck in left and all the skinny little 1990's cars could wedge by them on a road like this. Now put a Coach like a Jonkheere JHV B11R on it combined with wide bulky SUV cars like Landrover Discoveries and you've got no hope of passing. Tesla Model S's and X's are the worst cars for excessive car width. Point to point on metal Teslas are almost a Lorry width. They are really silly cars to get past in a Coach especially on a school run.

Daniel, that's Greatshellford Cambridge every day... I used to carry a book for just such occasions... Especially for BMWX5's.... They like to drive aggressively and don't do reverse.... Until!!!

Hornhil road. It's a nightmare ! 1 of only a few roads which gets you from 1 side of the M25 to the other. No weight limit so any vehicle can go down it. And it's very tight. Been in Ashevilles situation many times on this road !

Cornwall has loads of unnamed roads like that, some of them not even tarmaced. 2 way traffic with hedges slapping both side mirrors, I even saw a double decker bus wanting to turn onto that road from the same type of road. Traffic jammed for miles near Porthcurno beach.

Never makes any sense to me, why get a large vehicle to reverse? Unless they have a reverse camera, it’s literally a hope and pray nothing is behind you, cause you can’t see anything. As a bus driver, it’s my biggest pet peeve, 9 times out of ten, it was caused by the car drivers lack of attention. And with the Highway Code these days, apparently we are responsible for literally everything, if someone reverses into us and we stationary, it’s our fault. So it’s either you reverse or we live there now 😂

I'm a retired coach driver, and I always hated reversing on country roads because some numpty would always pull up behind you and bib their horn . Annoying.
