Maybe the smaller brush is for shorter hair and the big brush is for people with longer hair. Maybe you gotta look at it like that. But it shows the wider the teeth on the brush or comb. The better it detangles 4C hair. The more together the teeth are it works better for straighter texture hair 1-3 hair types.

I think for the small size the purple color is meant for straight hair. They have different model for kinky hair of the small size. The large size you got is a kinky hair model.
