half the reason I do calisthenics is trying to correct whatever I've done to my body over the years

Amen for that. Deadlifts completely fixed my back issues. I use weights that I can do 8-12 reps with. 1-2RIR. Nothing crazy, just steady lifting

Low back pain is the worst.

I had lumbar discopathy and was unable to bend for almost 2 months, so I feel you on that one. πŸ˜…

Proper bracing and stabilising the core on its own will get you back on your feet super fast. πŸ’ͺ

That's awesome to hear, man! Makes complete sense to me as I've felt a heightened level of core stability after routine deadlifts...even at lighter weights where I wasn't going for the PR...just going for the strict form was still making gains!

I have been doing Stronglifts now for the past 4 months, with pulls ups and dips in between. Since I have been doing deadlifts and bent over rows, my back has got much stronger that I now squat over 100kg with no issue. I used to get a twinge every so often, but completely gone. Definitely due to DL and the rows.

I did the same thing. Lower back was so much more stable. Super slow Jefferson curls helped at the end of my leg days helped as well

Similar experience. I used to ruin my lower back all the time doing squats, and since I started doing deadlifts it's been much better.

Deadlift also made my lower back pain disapear. It's going back in a few months if I stop doing it. It's an essential exercice. I do prefer the classic version than the romanian one to target the lower back and the spine erectors.

I found front squats and ab curls with a cable helped my lower back pain and some QL pain from stabilizing and strengthening my core, although it looks like your core is definitely already developed πŸ˜‚

For me it's hip thrusts πŸ‘

So to be specific, it’s Romanian deadlifts that’s helping, and not regular deadlifts?
