Ahhh I WISH I could have a whole comic planned, but I'm a character artist, NOT a writer. 😭 How would you even develop this skill??

I personally think knowing the ending is the most important part.

The slow development is fair, after all we're basically reading an entire book in slow-motion. Relish every page!!! 📖📖📖

I have a question. How do you draw your characters body in your comics. Not the chibi ones but the regular ones

I have just the beginnings of my comic planned, like 5 chapters. I kinda just ran with what I wanted in a comic…which is cozy fantasy that’s kinda slice of life? But as the story progresses it gets bigger than our main character and a revolution ends up in the mix. I don’t know the ending just yet…because it kinda overwhelms me thinking that far into the future. 😅

I was just talking to my friend about this. I have only 2 modes and unfortunately they do not yet interconnect. Mode 1 is: I know the general idea, broad swaths of storyline and plot, bits of narrative expanding over multiple arcs, each with a beginning middle and end. But absolutely no idea how to actually write the story, page by page. No idea what happens day to day, how to write the dialogue, or how to connect the arcs. Just a big outline and no idea how to fill it. Or Mode 2: I have a vague idea of a story seed, with deeply detailed characters, descriptions, dialogue and the first couple plot points. Enough to write a great 3 line summary of the story idea and get a few pages written out ready to go. Then no idea what's supposed to happen after. If I keep writing without knowing where it's going, I end up writing myself into a corner. Otherwise I start looking for inspiration for where to go next, what to do to advance the plot and where I'd like it to go, only to get bored of the story and inspired to start a new one. I don't post my wips because the pressure of commiting and stress of disappointing people makes it even harder for me to write, but I've now started collecting together all the little bits of story ideas, research, sketches, etc for my little projects to put in the cloud for later reference. I don't remember if it was this channel or another that suggested it, but it's really been helping me get my head around my writing styles, reasons for inspiration, and what kind of stories I'm actually interested in telling, not just briefly exploring in my head. I don't know if I can ever produce solo, but now I have detailed story plans I can work from if i ever do find a collaborator

I have a few questions!: How many panels do you usually have per page? And how many pages do you usually have per chapter (in other words, how do you pace your story?)? I need some tips on that front- Another question I have is how did you start with character design??

The first half of my entire written story was entirely made up on the fly, I literally planned nothing but the main characters, I’ve only now started to plan things in advance.

The reason a Warped Axe is so good on an Arcane build is because its status effect scaling is borrowed from the greataxe category instead of axe.

I have made multiple theoretical characters for if I learn to write a comic and I know how all of their stories end most of them I even know how I would kill them at the end of it

What was the hardest scene to draw and the easiest scene to draw? What was the hardest character to design/draw and the easiest character to design/draw? Also did you have to decide between Castoff and other story ideas besides Psy or was Castoff the comic that you just knew you had to start once you didn't want to do Psy anymore, and if there are others do you ever plan on doing something with them someday or are you too focused on Castoff right now to even think about those ideas? Sorry about how many questions I asked, I really love your webcomic!
