ITV would have filmed the interview whenever he told them he was arriving. They would adjust their schedule. It’s almost like he forgot he was Prime Minister 🤷‍♂

He doesn't care about anyone beyond himself. Its quite simple. The man is dripping in vanity.

So right. Not only does D-day remind us how much we needed out allies to fight for our collective freedom but we now face similar threats from Russia where we need to be working together to support Ukraine. Then any ongoing trade etc would just be a bonus in spending time with these leaders, showing our commitment, solidarity and growing our relationship and that's ignoring the snub to the veterans. Poor decision on so many levels.

Nobody can get their heads around it, good riddance to 14 years of austerity for the common man and 14 years of wealth increase for those at the top

It demonstrates a complete lack of statesmanship, communications, strategy, relationships...

There is NO scenario that mitigates or diminishes it as a gaff.

Anyone else would relish a photo opportunity with the US, French and German leader in the same shot. You'd get that picture in print from the photographer and have it framed somewhere in your house as a reminder, when your old of that time you really were the British Prime Minister. That he saw no value in that, on top of the insult to the D Day veterans is mind boggling.

I also can't get my head around it either. I just cannot understand that he didn't understand it was important to stay & spend time with Vetrans & others .

A lovely woman from the 111 dental service said “we are going back to Victorian times”, that’s Sunak’s party of shisters, including that top hatted I go to sleep at work bell end.

He rushed back because he was being branded a liar every time he was mentioned. That's more damaging to his planned image going forward outside of politics.

I think Rory, the problem is that you believe other politicians are in for the same reasons that you were, talking about issues. Effecting change.
I know it's low hanging fruit but I genuinely believe that he's there to make as much money as possible for him and his.

He does not have to win he already is the worst PM we have ever had. If that is winning he done it in spades.

Just tells you Sunak gives a flying f*%k about policies or the office other than "what's in it for ME"

He’s dodged international events before. There is something psychological going on. We’ll never know the real reason unless he bares all in an autobiography.

The election result with these polls is like the sword of Damocles above his head. He's chosen to bring things to an end sooner rather than later. Election defeat the morning of 5th July and then a resignation as Tory leader by the end of the day. He'll be on holiday in no time and I suspect will disappear from politics. I don't think he's found himself as suited for the top job as he initially thought he might be.

It's not that complicated. Literally the only Tory strategy was "get back Reform voters". Sunak was worried that spending time in Europe hanging out with European leaders would be exploited by Reform to say that the Tories weren't committed enough to cutting off all ties from Europe. He never even considered how it would look to everyone else.
