Basketball has blown up globally. You're seeing players from all over the world come into the NBA and absolutely dominate. It's not unthinkable to suggest that international teams have become more competitive at the Olympics.

One thing that’s important to note that he’s not taking into account is probably half or more of that Serbia team (as well as many overseas teams) likely all grew up together and have played with each other for years, creating strong chemistry. Yeah the USA team has a lot more talent overall but at the end of the day they’re all mostly just colleagues and competitors with one another that are put together for a special event. Sometimes that chemistry and will to win can be an X factor.
