As amazing as the animation is, I can't help but be a little mad at how it's so one-sided. Thor is basically the Norse Kratos. From the weapons to the warriors who wield them, they should be rivals, two vicious destroyer Gods clashing in an epic battle. In the game, Thor was able to flat out kill Kratos, which should be a true testament of the Thunder Gods words ringing true: "I can take it!"
It's honestly a shame that people always ignore that. Not that I don't understand why, a lot of the fans like to imagine Kratos tearing through the Norse pantheon without breaking a sweat just by not holding back, which is fair enough. But it was heavily implied both in the background lore and narrative that Thor is a match for Kratos to he point where even Mimir, who knew both gods well, believed it could go either way. A sentiment shared by Kratos himself. To me, it would make sense for Thor to be one of the few people who are able to take the full force of what Kratos has and be able to dish it out given how he's meant to embody everything that Kratos used to be and what he could've become. It adds so much more depth and gravitas to the encounters with Thor. It really makes it feel like a be-all and end-all clash of Titans.
But that's just my opinion, you don't have to agree.
