Didn't realize hard lock existed until chapter 4, but I had bumped up sensitivity so I just hard followed balteus.

He's actually hard-locking, I thought he wasn't either until I watched this, but the hardened white semi circles on the top left and right of the reticle don't light up if it's not hard locked (I know because I studied changes in the UI because I kept unlocking thinking I was relocking during my playthrough)
He IS doing something that exists in MOST Fromsoft games. But that's also why it should be a simple solution by now... if you're hard locked, and you manually turn the camera and the target goes off screen, the game unlocks because it's letting you take control of targeting... he's over managing the look control instead of letting it lock.

Oh so he did beat the helicopter.
He couldnt beat that at first because he couldn't figure out you have to stagger bosses to do significant damage.
And he was playing the game like a cover shooter trying to hide behind buildings while standing still.
The games easier than souls if you just follow along with the way its supposed to be played. You can't brute force it with pure head into wall stubbornness.
