Just a quick note to all those who shell. When we take gastropod shells from the beach we deprive hermit crabs from a future home. Hermit crabs are born without a protective shell and move i to empty ones. Once they grow bigger and donβt fit in their current residence they need to move into a bigger one. People remove the shells from the beach and crabs are using our plastic litter as their houses which is tragic. We need to be responsible and not pick literally every shell on the beach. We can do with less.
