As long as you don't drive too fast you can air down your tires much more. In years of running in New Jersy beach and Pine Barrens sand, reduce your pressures until the sidewalls start to bulge. If you "dig in", stop. There will be a "magic" pressure that works for you. It also helps that your front and rear tires track in the same rut. Steel wheels can have their centers cut and moved to accomplish this.
