The Sony WH-C720Ns are good. Not all that expensive. And they have replacement parts available. I've gone through multiple sub-$100 cans where a part failed and I had to toss them. I got the Sonys 'used / very good' from Amazon for under $80. Buying used from amazon is a crap-shoot, but it's very easy to refurn something that's not perfect.
I've used these on a couple of flights. The ANC let me watch a couple of movies without cranking the volume.
That said, finding cans with good ANC is easy. Finding earbuds with ANC as good as even the no-name cans is hard. Maybe that's me because I hate jamming things into my ear canals. I ended up with the Bose 2024 QCs. Very good ANC, decent-ish 'aware' mode (particularly in planes - they pick up a lot of wind noise and the air's pretty still inside a plane) and my ears aren't screaming at me after a couple of hours.
Just my $0.02, of course...

earfun tune pro is the true flagship killer, at least for now (great sound, decent anc, good transparency, good sound from 3.5mm jack, great sound from usb-c audio, wind noise cancelling, earfun app to change EQ settings, foldable, 100+ hours of battery life with anc off and 70+ hours with anc on) for under 80 dollars. just leaving this here if anyone wants to know bout it

The best cheap ones koss ksc75 at $25. The best mid price ones koss kph30i at $35. The best high price ones koss kph40 at $45. All beat jbl's hands down, all on ear, no anc.
