I expected to see all 23 comments(at the time I commented) saying the holes will let rain and moisture get in the pipe, mold and mildew will be an issue, the air won't circulate, etc. This is a proven method that works in many other buildings over maybe decades. The holes are drilled, then each section of the pipe was rolled, so the holes are on the bottom of the tube, and the tube is on top of gravel, to allow any moisture to escape the tube. Its Science. Or Magic. Pick one.

We also use 1" black plastic. 4 rolls gives you 400'. 6 to 10ft deep connect pipe as 1 continous circle. Bring the 2 open ends to the habitat. Connect a raditor and 12v pump.Install 12v fan on the radiator run off a solar. Connect to your array. Now you have ac. Run 50/50 coolant in the plastic pipe.

It looks like the pipe ends at the far end so you’re taking in hot desert air. Did you consider a loop type system where the intake is inside the house and then it loops out and goes through 200 feet of pipe and then comes back in cool? With the loop approach, you wouldn’t have to cool the air as much since it’s already cooler in the structure. This could potentially save money by having shorter runs.

It's amazing what you ate doing I know you can put coiled popes underground for heating because the earth keeps warm , it's certainly a big job and you certainly making sure it's done right love you both ❤❤❤

Hope you have a way to keep the snakes and scorpions out of the house. I would have made a solid loop moving house air out and back with a small fan to move the air through. A small four inch high efficiency fan would be no problem on your solar system and work for both heat and cool. No access for unwanted guests and no chance of spiders blocking the flow with webs.

I watched the vdeo where ya put the tubes in looks like about 200ft how many sqft is it going to cool and what is the expected indoor temperature you will receive. Can't wait to see how well it works

Are you near Bisbee? I'm trying to avoid a drive through the desert in the summer. I apologize if this gig offer to ship it to me seems inappropriate. But it saves me a long drive..

I wonder if he is going to throw the dirt back on top. AlsoI would put some conduit in the trench for later lighting.

By allowing water to run through even with holes to drain may still allow mold to grow which potentially become air born .What happens if you don't drill holes on bottom or gravel bottom and just have pipe ends turned in downward so as not to allow any water inside of pipe ?

This is going to be cool.

Aren’t you worried about radon?

Insects and rodents will use those holes for access. Very unsanitary, and may allow critters direct access to your house. Maybe use mesh sock over pipes, but even that may not solve the problem , long term.
Mold may also become an issue inside the pipes.

Air coming in will be probably around 70°f. Blow hot air in and get cool air in return. In winter, blowing in the cold air will return the same temp air---which means its a heater also.o😅

Am I wrong but it has to be a metal tube to make it work?
