Theory: at first, the deep dark was a peaceful civilization of villagers who had access to great builders, engineers, and overall geniuses. They were able to make great scientific advancement and create things never before seen, including their advanced bread of golems with superior strength and power compared to regular ones. At one point, they tried making a portal which they believe would lead to another dimension, with resources and knowledge, allowing to advance their own world years into the future; little did they know it would lead to a greater nightmares. On the day the portal was activated, a black cloud came out, along with a wicked substance that consumed everything in its path; yhe sculk. The sculk spread throughout the deep dark at rapid speed like a plague, going as far as to consume and trap the very souls of the villagers within it. In the last second, the people responsible had managed to shut down the portal to prevent the sculk from spreading to the surface, but nor them, nor anything they had built could escape their horrible fate. In a short amount of time, the entire civilization, with its citizens, had perished, their bodies dead, and their very soul trapped in the sculk. The only thing that did survive was their revolutionary golems. The golems not only remained intact within the sculk, but also started absorbing it's power along with the souls of those that perished. Despite being functional, their souls became corrupted and they attacked anything that moved. In the end, all that remains of the once glorious civilization, is a city covered in evil, being guarded by the once proud golems, who gave their lives to defend it's innocent citizens.
