My husband was born in his old family home, in the country. Where his grandfather was born, his father, his aunt and uncles, and siblings. He was the youngest of eight and last one to be born there.
His family had a dairy farm.
Lots of hard work.
He talks about working the land with the tractor.
He talks about milking the cows.
He talks about running through beautiful green farmland filled with glorious colourful flowers.
He talks about getting lost as a child, in the hugely dense and tall cornfield, when he had to go water it, using the “ancient method” of digging the soil with the hoe, so the water could flow through the roots of the corn. Later on the used an agricultural water system.
He talks about riding his bike down to the river on hot steamy days, for a swim.
Wonderful memories he has of growing up on a farm and in the country.
But, 😂 when we got married, he flat out told me “I want to live in a new apartment in the city!”.

Lol 😂 you made me laugh when you said that no one is telling you to cut the grass because it’s growing….
We face that here in the city. It’s an issue though, because some city folk, just really don’t care, about keeping their property maintained and keeping it up to certain standards. Therefore, this idea of theirs makes for an “ugly” or unclean area in the neighbourhood
