Eating that quickly daily would mean heartburn daily for me.

It's a nice idea that they sit together. But if I only had 6 minutes to eat, I wouldn't waste a single minute talking to anyone. 😅

I remember after chow everyone would pass there plates forks and trays down and stack them. Last man would bring them to the dish wash station.

West Point: Our most difficult meal is the lunch meal, it’s required.

The meal in question: Mom’s spaghetti

My Uncle and Cousin both went to West Point. Beautiful campus and rich history.

My wife was a foreign language instructor at West Point for 6 years. Her department was right above this room.

What is the first thing shown? Slabs of dried meat? Burned toasted cheese? I can't tell.

This is a ridiculous level of luxury for the military. Man up.

David-e5e5f,
Dave, same here ( like the Pueblo ) but in reverse. I am a SEABEE, and sent to the U.S.N.S Chauvnet TAGS-29, an Oceanographic Research boat (heavy in electronics) in WestPac '74.
We had 2-man staterooms for E-5 and below, single staterooms for E-6 >, two staterooms sharing one bathroom. Had NavAids, Airdales ( SeaSprite helo ), Marines, Fleet Sailors, SEABEES, and MSC civilian crew. Meals were primarily steak, lobster and shrimp. We longed for hotdogs and hamburgers. All brought to your table by stewards, we had to bus our own plates (!). Fleet sailors would extend for as long as they could to keep from being sent back to Haze Gray and Underway. I reenlisted for a Battalion, just to get Off that tub . . . ☆

I remember in basic training you had to stand until the table was full then you could sit down and eat

My dad takes no joke about 45 minutes to eat his meal. He says it's because in the military he would have maybe 10 minutes if he was lucky after it was all said and done. So he said when he was done he would take his sweet time eating.
