I plan to continue working past 65 and have health insurance thru my employer. If I enroll in A only, am I doing anything detrimental?

My sister didn't enroll at 65 because she's still working and has insurance....she signed up for medicare at 66 and had to pay penalties because it's MANDATORY to sign up at 65.

I been on ssdi for a ye and a half tirn 65 april doesn't it just roll over since im on disability need a lung transplant this system blows its full of bs
