Ayurveda says one should not consume food items with different constitutions together. The reason is, OUR STOMACH GETS CONFUSED!
When we consume not-so-friendly food combinations, our stomach reacts! How?
The digestive fire or agni gets diminished and leads to the production and accumulation of toxins or ama. Such toxins may lead to channel blockages in the body, the root cause of most diseases. Such poor combinations can also lead to indigestion, fermentation, and gas formation.
Now when it comes to mixing and consuming bananas with milk (both being of the same constitution) they do not go well together. The reason is, post digestion, the constitution of bananas gets changed. This may lead to further imbalances within the body, and cause allergies, cold, flu, etc.!
On the other hand, mangoes are sweet and cooling in nature, and go perfectly well with milk. This means that you can enjoy mango shakes all you want. But remember, moderation is key!
