I appreciate someone actually eating British food and not instantly dissing it like everyone else does. And yeah chicken tikka is Indian but the tikka masala was invented in Britain and so is British food. All cusines are inspired by and use ingredients from all over the world, let's not act like a bunch of Indian food originally comes from Iran and the middle east

For the uneducated people in the comments, CHICKEN TIKKA AND CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA ARE DIFFERENT DISHES. chicken tikka masala came from when the British were in the spice trade and went over to india to collect spices and other stuff. The indians then showed the British how to use the spices in cooking. The British thought the dishes too spicy so they decided to create their own version with less spice. They liked it so much it became the national dish of Britain
