This is a finite universe that has a beginning and is coming to an end as far as light, energy, and time are concerned. That means there cannot be an infinite amount of causes and effects over time. Just the fact that we're stuck in the linear passage of time refutes the idea that we're living in eternity. I realize eternity exists, but whatever it is, it's beyond time, space, and matter.
