I think it would be cool if the Mother 3 official translation came out on Mother 2’s 30th anniversary, similar to how Fire Emblem 1 was localized for Fire Emblem’s 30th anniversary.

I have hope that it will eventually because of one huge reason: IT TOOK NEARLY 26 YEARS FOR EARTHBOUND BEGINNINGS TO BE LOCALIZED.
If mother 3 ever passes its 26th anniversary and it’s STILL not localized then I’ll give up hope on it being localized. But till then I still have hope

Seeing how they handled the Mother 3 icons, I doubt they’ll even just dump the Japanese version on the American NSO like they’ve done with other games. At this point it’s almost like they don’t want anyone who isn’t Japanese to know about the game.

I'd like both but I am annoyed that people dedicate their online lives to Mother 2 yet barely touch the third game since the english version isn't official. The fan translation is most definitely made with far more passion than any official version would be, regardless if it was marketed and published under Nintendo or not.

Whenever I play the fan translation, my computer crashes. It happened when I was fighting the Jealous Bass in the attic, and now I can’t play the fan translation anymore. That’s why I want an official translation—-so I don’t have to worry about it crashing.

I'll never understand why they don't just license Tomato et al's translation and localization, ensure those parties are financially compensated and credited for their work, give the code and script a good look-over and tweak anything deemed necessary, and release it in English-speaking countries. It feels so simple and obvious, it always has.

I mean our last hope is any of the games anniversary’s particularly mother 3’s 20th. And another factor, it’s not up to Itoi anymore, it’s up to Nintendo (the cowards). The games ready, Clyde has attempted giving them the translation, the time is pretty good considering earthbounds 30th is coming up, but I just think they wanna gatekeep us.
